I believe an immigrant should wait 5 years for citizenship.
I believe an immigrant should have a non-governmental job for those 5 years.
I believe an immigrant should only receive social benefits (health care, education, etc) as long as they contribute to our social system.
I believe an immigrant should not have a criminal record,

I believe this government does not have the political or moral courage to implement these measures.
My grandparent immigrants did!

As soon as an applicant receives citizenship, they should be issued a Canadian passport. This is because their permanent residence card is surrendered at the ceremony, and is one of the requirements as a travel document.

A person travelling on say a British passport, and now a Canadian citizen will not be allowed back into the country until they get a Canadian passport.

As the documents required for a Canadian passport is the same information required for citizenship. Why cannot a passport be part of the citizenship ceremony.

Senate had betteer vote NO on changes to Canadas immigration act. There should be no fast tracking for any reason. Canadians are depending on you to vote NO

The chair of the House Immigration Committee, MP Borys Wrzesnewskyj, said in May 2016 that he hopes the bill, known as C-6, will pass into law in time for Canada Day i.e. July 1 2016.
It is believed to be not only a political statement but also a political will of the present government.
It’s about nine months that has passed from the proposed date of passing the the bill into law yet nothing is visible. How long it is likely to take to pass the bill.
