Yes it no longer applies to your husband because the old law is abolished and no body should be held at ransom.

Hopefully IRCC will come to realize that my husband and I are indeed a “GENUINE” marriage so that we can begin to live our lives in Canada with each other after a long lengthy wait. Hiy hiy may Creator bless us. Ekosi. 🙂

I would like to move back to Canada and have my American husband join me, he is a US citizen. What steps do I have to take to make this happen.

Canada is becoming more objective in immigration and simplifying constantly. This is akin to unnecessary corporate policies in the work place where a only small percentage of the people will take advantage/abuse the openness of privileges.

The US is opposite. Doing unnecessary and expensive changes for little benefit like the proposed US-Mexico border wall which is a huge waste of time and money. The money could be used to provide jobs in the field of catching illegals with crime records and agencies who will help illegal migrants to settle legally and free training to get proper jobs.
