Manitoba PNP draw issues 124 invitations

The 91st Manitoba Expression of Interest (EOI) draw took place on June 4.

A total of 124 immigration candidates were invited to apply for a for Canadian permanent residence.

The (MPNP) distributed the invitations, also known as Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) to candidates who were eligible for the following streams:

  • : 84
  • : 21
  • : 19

This brings the total number of LAAs issued to immigration candidates this year up to 2,154.

Out of the 124 LAAs issued, nine went to candidates who had profiles in the .

Express Entry

manages applications for three federal immigration streams: (FSWP), (FSTP), and (CEC).

are ranked on the (CRS) which gives them a score based on human capital factors such as age, work experience, education, and language ability.

The highest-scoring candidates are issued (ITAs) through regular federal Express Entry draws.

If the nine MPNP candidates, who received an LAA in the June 4 draw, successfully receive the they will be awarded an additional 600 CRS points.

The extra points effectively guarantee that the candidate will be selected in a subsequent Express Entry draw.

Manitoba鈥檚 Expression of Interest system

In order to be invited to apply for a provincial nomination from Manitoba through both the Skilled Workers in Manitoba and Skilled Workers Overseas categories, candidates need to register an EOI with the MPNP.

An EOI is an online profile that is ranked out of a score of 1,000. Points are awarded for a candidate鈥檚 education, work experience, connections to Manitoba and proficiency in English or French, among other factors.

In the latest draw, candidates invited under the Skilled Workers in Manitoba Stream had a score of 523.

The lowest-ranked candidate invited from the Skilled Workers Overseas Stream had a score of 703.

Skilled Workers Overseas and Skilled Workers in Manitoba

The Skilled Workers Overseas Category allows the MPNP to select and nominate skilled foreign workers who can help support Manitoba鈥檚 labour market.

Candidates must have an established connection to Manitoba such as close family or friends, previous education or work experience in the province, or an invitation through one of the MPNP鈥檚 Strategic Recruitment Initiatives, among other requirements.

They do not need to be in Manitoba at the time of application in order to be eligible.

The candidates invited through the Skilled Workers Overseas Stream were invited directly by the MPNP under a Strategic Recruitment Initiative.

The candidates invited through the Skilled Workers in Manitoba category must have a full-time, permanent job offer from a Manitoba employer, among other criteria.

International Education

Manitoba graduates with certain in-demand skills may be invited under the .

This stream includes three sub-categories: , , and the .

The MPNP sent out 19 LAAs to International Education Stream candidates in this draw.
