Manitoba鈥檚 immigration program reached new heights on July 27. The province invited 1,140 Express Entry candidates to apply for a provincial nomination 鈥� the most ever in a single draw.
Express Entry candidates eligible for Skilled Workers Overseas stream

It broke the previous June 28 record, when the (MPNP) invited 1,017 Express Entry candidates.
All candidates in the new draw were invited to apply for a provincial nomination from the stream. They must have previously submitted a profile to Manitoba鈥檚 Expression of Interest (EOI) system, and had an EOI score of at least 557 to receive the 听(尝础础).
This score is tabulated based on Manitoba鈥檚 EOI scoring matrix. It is not the same as the federal聽聽(CRS) for Express Entry. There was no CRS requirement for this draw.
That being said, if invited candidates receive the provincial nomination from Manitoba, they will automatically get 600 points added to their score. This is not unique to Manitoba. Any Express Entry-linked聽聽(PNP) will render this same reward, putting provincial nominees at the top of the line to receive an聽听蹿辞谤听.
About Express Entry
聽is a management system for permanent residency applications for聽: the聽, the聽, and the聽.
It is possible to skip the PNP process and聽聽by directly applying through Express Entry. However, having a provincial nomination effectively guarantees that聽聽will invite you to apply for Canadian permanent residence, given the 600-point award.
When you submit your profile, you are then ranked based on the聽聽(CRS), which considers factors like your age, work experience, education, and language skills, among others.
The highest-scoring candidates receive invitations to apply for permanent residence through聽regular聽.
Submitting a profile in the Express Entry pool is the first step to applying for a provincial nomination to Manitoba.
Manitoba immigration programs
Manitoba has a number of聽聽dedicated to attracting international talent to settle in the province. The provincial government manages its immigration through the MPNP, which supports immigration applications to the federal government. Canadian provinces do not have the ability to give out permanent residency status, but they can help an application along by issuing provincial nominations.
If you want to benefit from a nomination from Manitoba, you need to register an Expression of Interest with the MPNP. This puts you in a position to receive an LAA through the聽听补苍诲听听蝉迟谤别补尘蝉.
Manitoba then ranks candidates out of 1,000 points for their human capital factors, as well as their connections to the province.
The Skilled Workers Overseas Category and Skilled Workers in Manitoba streams are designed to allow the province to identify candidates who meet its labour market needs.
Candidates overseas need to demonstrate connections to Manitoba through the likes of close family ties, previous experience in the province, or an invitation through one of Manitoba鈥檚 Strategic Recruitment Initiatives. You do not need to be living in Manitoba at the time of your application to be eligible.
In order to receive an invitation under the Skilled Workers in Manitoba category, you need to have a full-time job offer from a provincial employer.
International graduates who complete education in Manitoba can receive an invitation under the聽聽if they can demonstrate that they have in-demand skills.
