Five of Canada鈥檚 provinces have invited candidates to apply through provincial immigration programs this week.

Immigration is a shared responsibility between the provincial and federal governments. When a province nominates a candidate through the (PNP) it strengthens a candidate's application for permanent resident status. This is especially true for candidates who automatically receive 600 additional (CRS) points when nominated.

and Nunavut do not use the PNP. Quebec has a unique agreement with the federal government in which it has full autonomy over the selection of its economic immigration programs.
