Ontario, British Columbia and Manitoba issue provincial nominations to candidates

This week, three provinces issued nominations to candidates through their respective (PNPs).

Candidates were invited to apply through specific PNP streams based on their past work experience, occupational skills, and education. An immigration stream is a specific pathway to permanent residence that can contain sub-streams, and often targets a certain aspect of a candidate's profile (most commonly work experience or education for example).

Each PNP uses its own scoring system to rank candidates鈥 eligibility for immigration. These scores should not be compared across different PNPs.

Certain PNP streams are 鈥溾 meaning that they align with the federal government鈥檚 system to consider candidates who are in the federal immigration pool.

Candidates in the Express Entry pool who receive a nomination certificate from a PNP can earn an extra 600 CRS points, all but guaranteeing them an (ITA) through Express Entry.

PNP Results, August 10-16th

Ontario

The (OINP) held two draws this week, through the : Foreign Worker stream.

The first draw occurred on the 13th of August, inviting 420 candidates who had job offers in a selected healthcare occupation, and a minimum score of 50 according to the OINP scoring system.

On the same day, the OINP invited 958 candidates who had job offers in other in-demand positions; and a minimum score of 54.

British Columbia

The (BCPNP) held four targeted draws this week, through the (includes ). Candidates with skills in in-demand positions were invited, across five different sectors of the economy.

In total, at least 135 candidates were invited through these draws, with varying cut-off scores for each targeted draw. These were as follows:

  • 35 Candidates in childcare occupations needed a minimum score of 87 to be invited;
  • 27 Candidates in construction occupations needed a minimum score of 89 to be invited;
  • 27 Candidates in healthcare occupations needed a minimum score of 99 to be invited;
  • 45 Candidates in tech occupations needed a minimum score of 120 to be invited; and
  • Less than five candidates in a veterinary occupation needed a minimum score of 80 to be invited.

Manitoba

On August 15th the (MPNP) held two draws.

The first draw was held under the, and invited 252 candidates that met eligibility requirements, including having a master鈥檚 or doctoral degree from a Manitoba school in the past three years, and meeting a (CLB) of at least 7. No cut-off score was announced for this draw.

On the same day the MPNP held another draw under the , inviting 40 candidates under a 鈥渟trategic recruitment initiative鈥 undertaken by the MPNP. In addition to meeting eligibility requirements, candidates needed a minimum score of 703 under the MPNP scoring system.

Of the 292 applications that received an ITA, 37 were issued to candidates who declared a valid Express Entry profile.
